Is this new? Never noticed until receiving one. I'll have to admit, the little heart sign indicating "like your response" throws me off a little. Because of the heart. Couldn't we have, say, a bull's eye? Maybe a 1911 .45 pistol? Laughing Buddha? Stalin pointing his finger? Anything but a heart/kiss/poodle/rainbow/kitty. Just askin'.

Think it's been around since the 'change'

My take is that it just gives us the chance to 'I like' or 'You're welcome' without making a separate post. Agree though the heart isn't quite 'ww2f' enough perhaps - maybe a Panzer Penguin would be better? :)

Carl seems to use it more than most so he probably has the best answer...:)

OMG. I'm afraid I did not notice the change. That would explain the hot flashes and mood swings....Hearts are nice, in cards.

I think the Like button is fairly new, only noticed it for about 2 weeks. Perhaps a ' I respect you in a manly way' button?

I think a shoulder punch would be more appropriate.

then you'd also have to have a 'kick in the b's' button :) which on reflection isn't such a bad idea :)

Or a nun with a spear through her head, maybe even a flaming midget. As it sits now I think it's a little too puffy kitten sticker for me.

How about something totally off the wall? Something like Adam Richman eating to excess then exploding.:lol:

Sometimes I think we might to better with a "hate" button, I can think of a few posts. :XD:

The likes button is a stock feature that came with the most recent upgrade earlier this month. I didn't even notice it myself at first. I can turn it off if the Rogues don't like it, or maybe I turn it green in homage to JG 54.

Though it was a more recent addition than the "major upgrade", some of the rogues suggestions are intriguing, I like Grünherz best, let's just hope Za "jumping elephant" Rodinu doesn't see this.

I'd be ok with a thumbs down for bad posts. Can get over the heart thingy....But all our old salutes are gone too, along with the blurbs. ...I have no idea how to do + or - rep points. Can we check on rep points and whom issued them? Thought I knew my way around.

just below each post on the left - you have salute/blog/rep/report - and to check what you have just go to settings right up in the top right of the page.

I sort of like the "Like" button myself, it does give a person a way to show you approve of a post if you are out of salutes, or cannot put anymore "rep" points on somebody. I just wish I could figure out how to put my "username" in the thing like others are doing. When I hit "Like", a heart shows up but no a recognition as to who "likes" the post exactly.

I think that's just on your likes - everyone else sees it was you - there's also the "... Likes" button up the top right of the thread panel that lets you see all the liked posts in it.
