HI! I am a WWII history buff- altho I guess that goes without saying here!. I am especially interested in the point in the war when the Allies and Axis were at approximate parity- February 1943-July 1943. I am also interested in the strategies that the Axis could have used at this late date to win the war. I believe a radical and much more deliberate application of "Mainsteins miracle" concepts could have restored the battelfield initiative to Germany in 1944. If this was coupled with an earlier assignment of Speer to managing war production and a wiser application of resources to the Jet bomber and panther tanks instead of the VI and VII, Germany may have been able to force a seperate peace on the Eastern front prior to D-day. Of course any success for the Nazi project would have required the inclusion of all European peoples in the vision for an independant and self sufficicent Europe. Hitlers belief that Slavs, Hispanics, Latins Balts, Jews and other European peoples were only fit for slavery or worse guarenteed the failure of the project at its inception. It is this evil that made the project fail so utterly, despite early promise.

    Welcome aboard.

Not sure I would consider the Axis and Allies to be at "approximate parity" in early 43 though. Guess it depends on what factors you look at but the avalanche was pretty clearly already in motion. Might be better going into some of these in another thread but ...

Jet bomber - Insufficient resources to make it a player.
Speer - Over rated. See numerous threads here where it's discussed and/or read Wages of Destruction
Panther vs Tiger don't see enough differences to make it much of a factor

Feel free to start threads on them though. Lots of opinions here and some interesting facts may come to light.
