Looks like it might be a good movie. Looks like it takes place during the Battle of the Bulge. Looked at who will be starring in it and I do not recognize ANY of them, but will keep an open mind about it.
Is Peter Holden some relation to William Holden? Loved Stalag 17! It will be interesting to see how H-Wood portays the Germans that started the shooting. I read a book somewhere, could have been one on Jochen Pieper, that it wasn't clear whether or not American POW's were guned down as a result of some of them trying to flee capture or a young SS soldier getting nervous and pulling the trigger, or just murdering them.
Hmmmm...this should open up some old wounds, I think... The Saints of War is an action packed story based on the horrifying historical event known as the "Malmedy Massacre." In mid-December 1944 Hitler's Army blitzkriegs through the Ardennes Forest into Belgium creating the colossal wintertime offensive known as the Battle of the Bulge. Sergeant Daniel Epstein and close friend Nathan Greer find themselves held captive with over seventy other American Soldiers in a snow covered field. Without warning German soldiers open fire on the American Prisoners. Epstein, Greer and a handful of other soldiers are able to escape the massacre by hiding in the nearby woods. Without weapons or food they take on the unforgiving winter trying to find their way back to allied occupied territory. http://www.ldsfilm.com/SoW/SaintsOfWar.html
Think there will be someone playing Pieper (even though he wasn't around that part of his Kampfgruppe at the time of the massacre)?
The only good movie Hollywood can make right now is the one that would get MTV teen junkies to go see it. If I had one billion dollars I'd make a movie about Eastern Front
