    what if Germany carry on its nuclear project and start the war after they have nuclear weapons.

    According to a tv document the Germans (Heisenberg ) had counted that the needed uranium mass to get the critical mass was so big it would take hundreds of years to get that much uranium. So it seems not likely to work at least in Hitler´s time.
