This is a newly digitized report by CARL:

Combined Arms Research Library Digital Library : Item Viewer

It contains data on actual production from 1 July 1940 through
31 August 1945. Covers aircraft, ships, ordnance and automotive
    vehicles.

This is a 22 megabyte pdf, 432 pages.

It truly shows that virtually the entire economy was
devoted to the war effort. The industrial production
outlined in its pages is staggering.

    Thanks, Lou.

It is an extraordinary record of America's industrial might.

    Some interesting production figures are:

    M1911A1 .45 Caliber Pistol - 1,876,569 produced (page 156).

    M1 Helmet - 22,756,000 produced (page 157).

Torpedoes (all types) - 53,766 produced (page 212).

    M4 Series Tank - 49,234 produced (page 225).

    B-17 Flying Fortress - 12,677 produced (page 7).

    B-29 Superfortress - 3,760 produced (page 7).

There is much more information in the report.
