The military sure gets the new useful inventions 10-20 years before anything is sold to the public use, if ever. The drones are a good example, for instance.

No market for an airplane that doesn't have seating space or room for much cargo.

Top End lands aircraft manufacturing deal | 7NEWS

The Northern Territory is set to join the global aircraft manufacturing industry as a military classic is revived for the modern export market.

"We will be building amphibious aircraft that will be exported to the rest of the world by the end of the decade."

Wow we're getting ready for that already, and where is that one looks a bit desolate.

It's in the safest place should the sh#t hit the fan...

Chosen for its geopolitical and geological stability, ahead of other candidates like Malta, Norway and Qatar, the idea is that the Tasmanian site can cradle the black box for the benefit of a future civilisation, should catastrophic climate change cause the downfall of ours.

Airmen and Guardians...Thats the first non direct reference to Guardians i've heard...I think in Australia the only exemption is medical...and then you have to be allergic to all three vaccines...My work has lost a bunch of people...my office has been reduced by 50% (2 from 4)

Yeah I've learned that over the years. I have a compact Yanmar 30 hp tractor that does a good job clearing the snow, (until "helpers?" compress the snow by driving over it sixteen times before I get to it), into 4" of ice. o_O I don't usually worry about 'powder snow' turning slushy until April ! You couldn't make a snowball or decent Snowman up here if you tried.
It's the 16 plus inch snowfall that makes me break out the 60" wide 22" tall snowblower.

We have so much water in the occasional snows we get, that when we make a snowball, it is as hard as cannon shot. It'll knock your brains out.
