Several weeks back, I sent someone here asking about patches or qualification badges, I think, to talk to you. That maybe what you are talking about.

Now, wait...wait....wait just a minute, here, C..... before you go 'flying off the handle' and all that, let's just take a look at this.....

    expert.....expert..... OK, let's break it down into it's 'root'-words...

EX - X is a mathematical term - commonly used to identify an unknown quantity

SPURT - a small quantity of water (a drip, so to speak) that is emitted under high pressure.

So, when we put the two together, what do we get?

    ..... well, an

    UNKNOWN DRIP UNDER PRESSURE

    ... I'm OK with that!
    (...heck, y'know....if the shoe fits!...):D

Congrats on the Public Recognition of your wisdom, knowledge and thoughtful opinions!

I'm moving this to the Counter-Battery Fire (feedback) forum because this is actually about the Forums.

Carl, the reason you are an expert is that you earned it! Once a Rogue reaches 1,000 posts, they join the ranks of the Veterans, once they hit 5,000 posts they become a forum Ace, and once they reach 10,000 posts (you and Kai-Petri), you join the ranks of the WWII Forums Experten.

Members of the OKF (admin/moderation team) get to set their own user titles, so even though the may have earned one of the three aforementioned ranks, it might not show up if they have supplied their own more colorful user title.

Only a few Rogues deserve the term "Expert" with a capital E please. The Experts on this forum are not so many. Note that our mods and WWII Veterans have personalized ranks. Erich for instance has not the appelation "Expert", but we all know he is far more than than, not only for quantity but also for quality. Otto or Peppy could you recall us the conditions to get such and such all ranks ? I noticed recruit = a rookie.
    Is Member 100+?

Actually Skipper, only 2 Rogues deserve to be called Experten, (Kai-Petri and Carl Evans). Here is our current title breakdown:

    0 posts: recruit
    5 posts: Member
    1000 posts: Veteran
    5000 posts: Ace
    10,000 posts: Expert

Now this is just a rough first draft of our titles, in a week or so I'm going to tie in years of service, reputation, and increasing privileges to the mix, this is just a start. :D

Thanks Otto. It looks like I'll need a lot of stamina to get to the Expert Rank.
The gap between Member and Veteran is huge. What about something at 50, 100 and 500 points (Confirmed Member, Senior Member, Experienced Member etc...)?

I'm actually working on that right now, skipper. What I've listed are just the titles, members get additional abilities the more they participate and the longer they serve. It will all become clear quite soon. ;)

Such classified information will not be released until der PanzerPenguin gives GroFaz Otto permission to impart with said Information. Patience is always viewed as a virtue - so, young Padiwan, time will tell.

Cool I'm getting curious now. I can imagine Otto and Peppy fumbling with all sorts of terms for those who have in between 5 and 999 postings. The results should be worth it.

It'll also weed out some of those neo-nazi's etc as they will have very limited capabilities until they're around for X-amount of time and make X-amount of posts.

No we're talking Musso. I hope the new Troll detector will terminate these little Nazillons systematically.
