M1 155mm Howitzer Fleet submarine On second thought, I suppose the sub is a weapons platform. Ah, I'll leave it in my answer anyway; they're cool and were highly effective.
so far, i've answered an iowa-class BB and a B-25H with 12 forward-firing .50 calibers. to that i'll add: browning BAR tiger II 12-inch thor mortar schewer gustav 36-inch gun ta-152
Rifles - M1 Garand and M1 carbine Tanks - M24 Chaffee and the Panzer V Panther Pistols - Colt 1911a1 Planes - Dauntless Dive Bomber and P-39 Aircobra Ships - U.S.S. Iowa
pistol: the luger P08 the old slab-side might be a superior combat piece but nothing compares with the luger in terms of handling and shooting fun. when i'm holding one, i get weird thoughts, like i wish i could line up my enemies in a straight line and shoot them from behind at the back of the head as i stroll just behind them. sorry 'bout that.
No -one disputing you -yet My favourite is from a few miles further north View attachment 5899 ~Steve
G'day, My favorite infantry weapon would defiantly be the StG 44, preferably scoped. However my all time favorite (despite being in every aspect completely pointless and I know this) is none other than the German Ratte tank (if you can call it a tank). Fear it in all it's glory!
Well Joe, the question was what's your favorite weapon and not what is the best. Sure the Ratte's movement was restricted due to it's size and weight , sure scouting parties would risk their lives and waste time find crossing points as it could not use most conventional bridges , sure it was nearly impossible to conceal , sure it was an easily target for allied planes , sure it would waste precious and limited materials and time to construct , and sure there probably wasn't enough fuel in German (or probably Europe for that matter) to run the machine for more than a few hours BUT come on! It's a 1000 tonne monster armed to the teeth. Just look at the picture on the previous page, how can you say no to something so beauiful...
My 2 cents, all from the Blitzkreig era: QF 3.7 Mountain Howitzer-Britian 7.5 mm Chatellerault LMG-France Pzl Karas 3 man light bomber-Poland Renault 35 tank: France Anything witha Lewis Gun attached Seamus
That's probably cause it never left the drawing board... As for concealment, well that wouldnt have been very difficult at all, just turn the chalk board which it was drawn on to face the wall.
You'd probably need three companies of Flakpanzer Wirbelwinds and Ostwinds to keep the skies clear though...
