Well, IMDB just says "2009" But that trailer said 2010 and Wiki estimates the release date to be around March 2010 so.....who knows

Cant wait its going to be fantastic. Id imagine when it does come to dvd it would be in the same range as band of brothers was

 

I'm pretty excited about this, band of brothers is hands down my favourite world war two saga and hearing that there was going to be a sequel i got pretty jumpy...

Jaeger, I'm with you on that. I would love to see a Brit/Aus/Canadian unit or operation given the Spielberg/Hanks treatment.
There are so many to choose from. Haven't heard much about the Dambusters remake, any news?
Closest I can think of re a Brit op is A Bridge Too Far and, brilliant though it is, it does not have the same FX/SFX/'point of view' genius of SPR and BOB (band of brothers of course, not Battle of Britain!)

Just saw your posted clip thanks, unmistakable Spiel/Hanks style - looks great but some of the CGI looks is a bit too 'clean' if you know what I mean. The rest looks good, I look forward to UK release.

Dang, 7 more months to go. Will this be only on HBO? If so, I'll have to get HBO for ten weeks starting in March.

 

Dang, I heard that this was going to be out this spring!!!! Now I'll have to wait for 2010...oh well

I watched the show "Battle Rats" with interest. I was deeply touched when Harlan Glenn, at your family's request, scattered your father's ashes on Mt. Surabachi. I know much has been written about the battle of Iwo Jima. But my first exposure to the battle was at age 12 when I read the Landmark Book For Young Readers volume: The Battle for Iwo Jima by Robert Leckie. He was from my home state of New Jersey, and I always regret that I never got to meet him. His Iwo Jima book made a lasting impression on me. I think one vet said "if there was ever a Hell on earth ..." certainly holds true for Iwo. I respect and admire anyone who went through that battle. My thanks to your warrior father, and to you for your contribution to that well-made documentary.

Hey what was the average age of the pacific soldier. It seems Spielberg is going to have a seemingly oldish cast.

 

Quite frankly, I'd rather see them do one on the 28th US ID the "Bloody Bucket" and just how horrific war could actually be. Ohama beach, Hurtgen Forest, the Ardennes, and fighting all the way in between.
