Awesome...can't wait to get my hands on this. Loved the way 'Band Of Brothers' was filmed, and the whole storyline, fab actors, just brilliant. Watched it about 3 times over. 'The Pacific' should be a great watch. :)

I watched an HBO special on the filming of The Pacific last night and I can't wait for this program to start. It appears as though it's as well filmed if not better, than BoB and done with just as much attention to detail.

I went to my 'On Demand' channels last night looking for something to watch. HBO has an 8 min. scene of the fight for the airfield on Peleiu. It was very intense and as you would expect from the makers of BoB,very detailed. Can't wait to see the whole thing!

Oh, this starts in March? There an official date? Would be awesome if it started on Saturday, March 6th!

I've already programed my DVR for the whole series.
Well, technically my WIFE programmed it. But I watched.

Read the books now, if you haven't already: Robert Leckie, Helmet for My Pillow, Eugene B. Sledge, With the Old Breed, and James Brady, Hero of the Pacific:The Life of Marine Legend John Basilone, and/or Jim Proser & Jerry Cutter, I'm Staying With My Boys:The Heroic Life of Sgt. John Basilone USMC.

I know it's a computer game graphic, but I don't think the Japanese had front ramp LCVP or Higgins boat type landing craft. The rare clip showing Japanese forces landing on a beach from skiff type V-bow boats similar to a life boat. Anyone got a take on this?
