Panzer IV Variant?

Aberdeen has an example of what appears to be a Panzer IV.The perplexing part is the drive sprocket and rear end.The drive sprocket is very small,about the same size as the wheels.The rear end is rounded off instead of verticle.Other than this it looks like your typical PanzerIV.Can anybody shed more light on this?

so this is the only produced vehicle of all. wow!
very strange though, that they have put their one prototype they had into action. There was, I think, a considerable chance of losing it.

 

I won't say it's a smart idea but it's the best way of testing a prototype.
Will it stand up to the rigours of combat???

You are going to love Aberdeen.Take a camera and buy plenty of film.I shot about six rolls myself.You can buy film right at the gift shop if you run out.
