or Hindu, or Shinto, or Zoroastrian, or Buddhist, or Jewish, or Jainish, or Sikh, or Tao, or Confusian or Bahai, or Coptic,

Wonder who that leaves? Perhaps an imaginary religion of peace?

Does mentally instable count ? That's what's the media usually says to avoid using the term "terrorist."

The Fishwife and I seem to compete to be first to say 'Dammit, those Presbyterians are at it again' when yet another such attack hits...

The copper, Xavier Jugelé, is reported as a gay rights activist who was part of the team that stormed the Bataclan, and worked in Greece with refugees. Seems a pretty strong symbol of the democratic values these Muppets are so set against, though I'm sure his friends and family would rather still have the man himself than a symbol.

There was talk this guy was being directed from afar. Recent incidents suggest we have a bunch of individual nutters or some organised hit squad targeting innocent bystanders from many separate countries. How you deal with this from a security perspective I do not know but given the ethnic appearance of a majority of these perpetrators it is not difficult to see why we are heading for a massive confrontation between cultures in which many innocent individuals will become targets for hatred.

I know not everyone agrees but the more power we give to our security services at this time the more comfortable I will feel. We need to be able to strike first and ask questions later where doubts exists.Time to end the soft liberal approach to dealing with this ever increasing problem.

I donated a few body parts to the cause.

But let's look at what you said.

"Strike first and ask questions later." So, you're in favor of suspension of civil rights? I thought your right-wingers were in favor of the Constitution. Or is that just the 2nd Amendment?

"the more power we give to our security services at this time the more comfortable I will feel" That's what inspired the Gestapo remark.

I think that you misunderstand my statement. I will not let the terrorists, who take claim for every anti social nut job that kills for the voices in his head, cause me to loose my freedom so I can "feel safe". I would rather die for freedom in a "terror" bombing than answer to "Let me see your papers" at ever state line.

I'm 1000x more likely to have a tree fall on me than die from a terrorist so I'm not that brave, just not stupid.

I don't suppose it would do any good to point out where you contradict yourself.

If you're looking to argue politics ad nauseam, perhaps you've joined the wrong forum. Out of your 15 posts a total of 3 are about military history. The rest is your commentary on modern events.

Of course, do as you wish.... this is just some food for thought.

Well at one time (Ok it's been a couple of centuries) their battle cry was "For God and No Quarter".

We kinda do the same thing, except argue whether it is the Quakers or Mennonites who are responsible.
