    Hello.
Can anyone tell me of the Arizona, how many sailors died below decks.
And, is it true that 2 USAAF pilots got in the air?

Dear Ryan: There are still over 1,000 men entoumbed on the Arizona. I don't know the exact number who died in the attack.

Its true that two USAAF pilots got into the air. These guys were stationed an an outlying airfield. I believe these were the guys that were played by Hartnet, and the other guy. The real pilots did shoot down I think 6 Japanese aircraft. There were also an additional 4 US pilots that got into the air, but I know nothing about them.

Ryan-something additional to this topic of yours.

The two ASAAF pilots to get in the air during the first attack-did NOT serve with Lt.Col.Doolittle and did NOT go on the Tokyo Raid.

The movie showed that all the FIGHTER pilots at PH, went on the Doolittle Raid, when in reality, all the pilots were in reality were BOBMER pilots trained at various airfields around the states and most were origionally stationed at Lackland and Kelly air force bases in San Antonio, Texas--just a hop-skip and a jump from here.
