I thought I'd share some photos from the 608 Engineer LE Co. All of these photos were taken by Mr. John Robert Ament. Waterproofing in preparation for the Normandy Landings 608 at Red Cross Clubmobile - somewhere in Europe
Hi Clementine. Thanks for the pictures. They make the war more real. I took the liberty of copying one to see if the "copy" function worked. Evidently, it did.
Hi, Lou. I think that's probably your very polite way of telling me there's a better way of posting pictures. But darned if I can figure it out. I can't copy, I can't attach a link, I can't insert an image. I have other photos, but it takes so long to get them in the post, I guess I'll just stop here. Mr. Ament could not remember who was in this crane - I think it is a Quickway crane - but I believe it is my father.
I am in my office and now I can copy and paste these photos, but I couldn't last night when I was home. When I tried last night, all of the buttons above were grayed out and I couldn't use them. I don't know what the deal is, but I will figure it out!
Those are wonderful photos, Clementine. Thank you for sharing them. (FWIW, I've been having trouble posting photos, too. )
We are suddenly awash with some great pic threads...All unusual and social side of warfare....Excellent Clem.
Great to see the a slightly less tense side of WWII, the centre pic of the truck swimming is a stand out!
