A great piece of detective work. "A fallen soldier's letter from World War I has been presented to his relatives after French police found them through social media. The missive was written on May 27, 1915, from the Somme by 24-year-old Frenchman Sgt. Jean Soulagnes to a friend. He urged his 'only friend' Jean Audiffren to tell his fiancée and family if he died on the front, Le Parisien reports. Soulagnes was killed in fighting 12 days later in the battle of Hebuterne, part of the Somme offensive. The letter was found by Marseille police in February in a search following a burglary. With the aid of social media, authorities found Soulagnes' great-grandnephew, Stephane Drouhot, in days. He attended a ceremony Friday at a Marseille police station with his nine-year-old daughter Clara, where he was given the letter. Mr Drouhot said he was 'stunned' when police called him to inform him of what they'd found." Social media helps French police find WWI soldier's... | Daily Mail Online
