Nice work. The subject matter is not often dealt with.

Decent work, but lacks historical accuracy.

As a night fighter, the F6F-5N, is missing the radar pod on the starboard wing.

Also, VMF(N)-541 never served aboard an aircraft carrier.

Takao is right. First rule of modeling historical objects, make it historically correct.

It is "Captain Constructive Criticism", remember it.

If your going to go the extra distance to buy photo-etched carrier tie-down strips. go the extra distance to do interior work, and go the extra distance to do a deck crew...Then I am going to expect more in attention to detail.

That doesn't mean you need to criticize everything though; Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do something.

SO you are saying that the plane depicted was never on a carrier?.....ever?

Did I criticize everything? No. I pointed out 2 error that are noticeable, with one being quite glaring - the missing radar pod.

If you want me to be critical of everything concerning F6F-5N F(N)-59, I can and will comply, as there is a good bit of photographic evidence on that particular aircraft.

NO...I am saying that that aircraft was never on an aircraft carrier wearing those markings.

It would have been on an aircraft carrier when it was transported across the Pacific, but it would not have squadron markings, and it certainly would not have the pinup painted on the cowling.

Several of us noticed the Radar pod; we just had the good taste to let it slide, beings the builder was quite proud of what they had made.

No, I just wish you would temper your criticism with some common sense and be mindful of what how your criticism will affect the other person.

Gents I didn't mean to start a problem by entering my model on this site. The radar pod wasn't included with the parts. I thought that since the aircraft had a hook on the tail it was a Marine carrier based aircraft plane

    Sorry

Straining over gnats and swallowing camels is required here. If they get too obstreperous just shoot them.

You owe no one an apology.

No model is a perfect copy of the real thing, no matter how precise one tries to be.

Please continue to share your work, myself and others appreciate it.

Well, he never called him an idiot. If he did, surely the mods would step in and correct such obnoxious behavior.
