Puzzled Rant Re Foreign Auction Site Bidders -

    As the title suggests, this is a puzzled rant regarding overseas types who bid on my UK internet auctions. Specifically, those who bid on them and, having won and incurred costs for me, then turn around and say something like "Oh, I didn't realise you were in the UK" and then proceed to try and wriggle out of it because they don't want to pay the (clearly advertised) shipping costs.

    Annoying though that is, this is why I'm puzzled - I've sold stuff to folks all over the world with no particular bias towards any one country and the above scenario has happened to me about twenty times - why is it that all (100%) of those instances have been bidders in the USA ?

    I normally get that problem with peeps in Holland and Belgium.

    That's a bit weird - I've had no problems with them.

    Oh, yes - correction - one of my 20 problems of this type was with an Ausie - so it's 19/20 were Americans - academic though that is.
