    There can be several different explanations.

    My first thought, is that it resembles the pattern of large explosions, where the explosion spreads out in a butterfly pattern. Thus, it might be a APDS pgrenade.

    Alternately, it can be the muzzle brake which throws back some of the explosion.

    It can also be the blast from a rocket projectile.
