I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird and not enough the bad luck of the early worm.

In politics it is necessary either to betray one's country or the electorate. I prefer to betray the electorate.

If five hundred Japanese were ordered to hold a position, we had to kill four hundred and ninty-five before it was ours-and then the last five killed themselves. It was this combination of obedience and ferocity that made the Japanese Army, whatever its condition, so formidable, and which would make any army formidable. It would make a European army invincible.

attack cry to bring stregth to yourself and fear to the enemy...

“Hoka hey!” cried the Sioux in 1876, “It’s a good day to die.”

Twenty years from now, with your grandson on your knee, and he asks you 'What did you do in the war?', you won't have to shift him to the other knee, cough, and say 'I shovelled shit in Louisiana

There's no need for you to try to teach me. I've been commanding the German Army in the field for five years and during that time I've had more practical experience than any gentlemen of the General Staff could ever hope to have. I've studied Clausewitz and Moltke and read all the Schlieffen papers. I'm more in the picture then you are! -Adolf Hitler in argument with Heinz Guderian
