    And remember it was first said, and reported in 1923 when Branch Rickey was still in St. Louis and had started up a new idea. The "farm teams", with the idea that since the Cardinals couldn't afford to buy talent they would have to "grow their own." He ended up with over 300 players competing for places on the "big sqad", when asked why he did it this way he responded that; "There is always quality in quantity." Sound familiar? Maybe Stalin wasn't that original a thinker!
