I second that. In the States, it's Veteran's Day, and I remember what all veterans did for us. I especially remember my grandfather who served in the U.S. Army in the Battle of the Bulge, and my father who was in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955.

There is a saying I keep well. "If you love your freedom, thank a vet." I thank my Dad each year.

"To absent friends", especially the really crazy ones. You are missed.

    Armistice Day for me too

Great Grandad, KIA Neuve Chapelle, 10/03/1915.
Quite likely a 'friendly fire' incident.

And a Great Uncle, KIA Burma, 30/11/1944 when his jeep struck a mine.
(Seems likely the immediate family never mentioned him again...)

If those can pay the ultimate price for my freedom, then my nice new £165.00 coat can take a pinhole or 2 to support my poppy.

West Ham UFC shared this picture. Jason French, a Royal Green Jacket and a WHUFC supporter will surely remember this day for the rest of his life. What an honor.
