Hi all. Stumbled on this forum and thought I'd try to do some additional research on my father's WWII service. He is a USMC pacific veteran, participating in battles that we've all heard of (Saipan, Okinawa, Occupation of Japan). I plan on sharing some stories of his service, ( Like how he still kicks him self for trading a Japanese pistol for a can of peaches :+) and adding a small piece in testimony to the Greatest Generation. As for my self, I live in New England with two beautiful (but very loud) little girls and the love of my life. I tried Marine Corps OCS in college, but lost focus and did not pursue a commission. Realizing I missed an opportunity to serve and deciding to be proactive on my mid-life crisis, I enlisted in the Navy Reserve at 29 and am still drilling 10 years later as a LT, looking forward to at least another 10 years. Thanks!
Welcome! More importantly, thanks for your service in the Reserve! You will enjoy your time here and I look forward to reading your posts. Cheers!
