I imagine beer sales in pubs over there are doing a brisk business right about now.

    I'd imagine...

Probably go even higher once the results are out. Either lifting a glass in celebration, or for drowning your sorrows in.

You are a wise man. From what I'm seeing on TV, the "yes" crowd seems to include a lot of very loud and excitable people.

The results for Stirling just came in. 60-40 in favor of "No".

BBC is already calling it as "No" Scotland-wide.

For me, brilliant. Sanity has prevailed. There's supposed to be an imminent news conference form the SNP. Apparently Salmond is resigning, but I no more believe that than any of the rest of his BS.

Great news (both the result and Alex Salmond sodding off).
I hope that the UK Govt. does not now go back on promises made to Scotland.

Politicians, keeping their promises? Are politicians more honorable over there? Please don't hold you're breath over a politician keeping his promise. They will find a way to avoid carrying out a promise when it benefits them and leave the electorate holding the bag. Remember, when politicians are not kissing babies, they are trying to steal their candy.

That was the best line from the film "The Hunt for Red October."

Jeffery Pelt: Listen, I'm a politician which means I'm a cheat and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops.

Stand by for a civil war! Unionists in bowlers wielding umbrellas vs Independistas in Tams viciously swinging golf clubs. Glasgow kisses. People tossing cabers for no apparent reason. Tea break promptly at ten. Anyone spilling whisky to be beaten senseless by both sides.
