After graduating with first class honours at Melbourne University, Mr. Menzies had his first experience of politics when he entered the Victorian Parliament in 1928. In 1934 he was elected to the Commonwealth Parliament, and was Attorney General from 1934 to 1937. He became Prime Minister and Federal Treasurer of Australia in April 1939.
