    What a waste.....My grandfather flew many missions in Mosquitoes over Germany and he always talked about how much he loved that aircraft.

    before I run off miles away for extended funeral ceremonies, may I ask you Miller what unit your grandfather was part of, and area of service besides the number of missions flown in the Mossie ?

    I don't recall at the moment Erich I'll have to check up on that this weekend. I want to say 352nd bomb group but I'm not sure. He primarily navigated in B-17's but he prefered flying in the Mosquito.

    That's a great link, Ta...the story of LR503 is well-known ( there was a large article in FlyPast magazine last year ) and is deeply tragic. A reminder of the perils of overconfidence and overexuberance..... [​IMG]

    that took place in my hometown. what a shame... someday I mayy visit it in the Aero space museum...
