new here. I may be behind the times, but has anyone heard of a film with "the oak" entitled "On the Wings of Eagles" (or something like that) where Arnold plays a german c-camp guard???

Whoh! Nope, never heard of that one!!

I did hear that he was supposed to play the comicbook hero Sgt. Rock.....it would have been weird as heck to hear him talk about fighting the Krauts in that thick Austrian accent. I guess that's why the whole thing fell through.

I heard about that movie about a month or so ago. Supposedly it is already in production and Arnold is definately signed on --according to what I read when someone posted a link that talked about it.

    Also--welcome to the forums.

I read the story somewhere. Let's just say that I have a bad feeling about this. His latest movies haven't been successful and I believe it will just be another Windtalkers or Pearl Harbor or like that Uboat movie. I hope I'm wrong.

    Best regards/ Daniel

No problem--and I agree with you on some of his last movies not really making the cut. In fact--the last movie of his I saw in the theaters was probably The Last Action Hero--or the movie where he went to Mars.

But since its a movie about ww2--ill go see it.

I also have to agree with you on Pearl Harbor--I hated it--except for the action scenes. I liked U 571 and like Windtalkers even better.

Windtalkers was ok, it kept me and my girlfriend happy (the ultimate test obviously, enough action for me and enough of the rest for her). Pearl Harbour was vomit inducing, induced a short spree of popcorn throwing madness.

I can just imagine Arnie coming off the landing craft in a re-make of SPR, 'I will see you on the beach baby'

    'Asta la vista Heiney'

And any others you can think of.

I've only found myself enjoying one war movie out of the last recent years..The Thin Red Line.

Private Ryan was good until they got off the beach scenes.

    Pearl Horbour...Sorry no comment.

Thats OK Urgh--I fully agree with you on the Pearl Harbor movie--its okay to say that it flat out sucked. The only scenes I liked were the action scenes.

In my opinion the Thin Red Line is the best US world war two movie. I really like it, it's right next to Das Boot, Winter War and Stalingrad.

Pearl Harbor sucked, thats all I have to say. I'm starting to hate most war films that are coming out. Oh well, I guess I'm just negative. I wouldn't mind seeing arnold playing a german part in a ww2 movie. mmmmm.... he would've been good in raiders of the lost ark. I know its not a ww2 movie but its close.

The only part I really liked in Windtalkers was when Christian Slater got his head lobbed off. Great idea, but sh!##% movie.

Was totally disgusted with Pearl Harbor. RAF piolots scrambling into Hurricanes- next scene they're flying Spit's? Those B-25's really took the cake. REAL LIFE- thought it was ingeneous for Doolittle to put wooden dowels and paint gun slits in the observation tail-cones to dissuade rear attacks.
