searching for 836th engineer Aviation Battalion in Manila

    Hello,
    My Grandpa, Sergeant Frank Popelka, served in WWII, with the 836th Engineer Aviation Battalion in New Guinea and the Philippines. We was a heavy equipment operator. I was going through some of his pictures and realized that there are names on the back of some of them. I would love to share with those family members if I could. I have searched for obituaries online, but I am unsure if they are the right people and I only have last names for all but one. If anyone has ideas or knows how to help please let me know. Thank you,
