    Hello!

I'm trying to research my Great Uncles service history, he has unfortunatly become increasingly unwell with dementia and as such details are a little sketchy.

At present i am trying to assertain more details about his regiment

the info i have at present is as follows:

He was a Lance Bomberdeer in thr Royal Artillery serving between 1941 and 46. He tells me he served in North Africa (Eygypt) as well as Sicilly and Italy (both occasions he tells me he was part of the first 'assult')
As his memory is vauge he doesn't seem to be able to give me a regiment (he remebers his serial number however) ..... the only other information i have is that when asked what his regiment was called he repeatedly responded with 'the 25lb ers' and that he was a 'desert rat'. Can anyone help at all to clarify the regiments that i maybe looking for, or any other information regarding this area & period.

    Many thanks

    Robin
