Hi, I'm looking for any service records for one of my cousins, 1384277 Sgt, Alfred Coughlan Moore, who served with the RAF in WW2. According to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission he died in Egypt,1942.
I'd welcome any info, however small.
    Regards, Tom Moore

Unfortunately his service records won't reveal the nature of how he was killed.

    But this will:

Sgt Alfred Coghlan Moore (1384277) 92 Sqn

    [QUOTE
Soon after 1730 hours, Hurricanes of 80 Squadron provided top cover to others of 238 on an evening patrol, eight Bf 109s of II./JG 27 being scrambled to intercept the formation. They bounced the top cover , Oblt Sinner shooting down Sgt Moore, one of the 92 Squadron pilots attached to 80, the latter baling out, badly wounded, over Deir el Rakhil. He died of his wounds on 26th.][/QUOTE]

    Regards,

    Dave
