This is what I brought back from our local flea market today: a batch of pictures from an Italian, or should I say Austrian , or French since those guys apparently changed nationality three times between 1918 and 1939. The first two pictures were taken in 1921 at Brixen, South Tirol. This territory was annexed by Italy after 1918, so the young lad , who was posssibly born Austrian served in the Italian 6th Chasseur Alpin Regiment (He was probably 18 in 1921). The I.D picture shows him (or is it a brother?) serving in the French army in Berlin in 1946 (wearing a U.S inspired uniform). Now this is far from being exceptionnal. Many Italians immigrated to France in the 1920s and served in the French army during WWII and after. My own wife has a Grandfather who came from the Triest area after WWI. He spoke German. This is why I bought and saved these pictures.
