I am looking for information on my deceased uncle Sgt. John J Robitz, and Seargent at Fort Riley, KS 2nd Cav. And then at the Battle of the Bulge. Always very tightliped, does any one know what happed to the Cavalry men from Fort Riley after '44. Was he rolled into a infantry division?

Your uncle was born in 1917 in Pennsylvania, but enlist in Newark New Jersey on 14 March 1941. He was a stock clerk when he enlisted?

I think the 2nd became part of the 9th Armored Div. in 1942.
