Hitler wanted to give his victory speech in Warsaw but he couldn't. Warsaw wasn't taken until 44. Nice video

 

The Germans didn't capture Warsaw until 1944? Or am I missing something?

 

There was always fighting in Warsaw all the way up to the Uprising. He had to give his speech in Danzig (Gdańsk) instead.

 

Hitler's speech in Danzig was on September 19, 1939, and it was not a "victory speech" - Poland did not surrender for another several days. At this time, Warsaw was still under siege, and Hitler could not have given a speech then and there if he had wanted to.

Hitler was in Warsaw on October 5, 1939. He watched a Victory Parade and took a tour of the city. He could have given a Victory Speech there jad he so desired.
