H.M Destroyer "Brazen," commanded by Lieut-Commander Sir Michael CuIme-Seymour, has been lost by enemy action. She sank while being towed into port, having been badly damaged in an encounter with enemy aircraft. But the Nazi bombers did not have it all their own way, for the destroyer shot down three during the engagement. One crashed alongside, the second was given a direct hit in the nose with a 3.inch shell, while the third received a direct hit abaft the port engine. There was no loss of life on the destroyer.
