Guess I better check in before posting tons of stuff in here..myself I am a USAF veteran, served with SAC with a top secret clearance during the 70's in communications and two years in Germany with USAFE. My Dad who passed away in 2010 was a WWII Army veteran of the Italian Campaign from 1944-45 and my grandfather was an Army veteran who was stationed at Schofield barracks around 1917 and than served in France in 1918...so three generations of military in my family. Always seemed to been interested in military stuff, building models, reading books, such as the Guadalcanal Campaign or the Civil War when I was like 8 years old. Watched Twelve O'Clock High, Combat! and Rat Patrol growing up. Still collecting NFL autographs as a hobby, mostly the older guys, some have passed away now, like Sammy Baugh, Johnny Unitas, Chuck Bednarik, Steve Van Buren and Deacon Jones. Probably the coolest rifle I have is a German Mauser 8mm Gewehr 98 dated 1918 in excellant shape. Do some car shows with my Viper and a tired '70 AMX. Married and now live in NW Washington State with the rain and mold and the traffic but ready for retirement to sunny Arizona in the near future.

Well thanks all..should of mentioned I'm also a writer...wrote an unpublished novel about a young German soldier at Stalingrad called "The Dead of Winter" and working on a trilogy about an Air Force pilot from 1963-73..it's about halfway done but looking good so far...aim high.

Not really a question per se. Looks like he was just making conversation by telling us about himself.

My favorite thing was in boot camp. "Smoke 'em if you got 'em." This while waiting for some evolution or other. We weren't allowed to carry cigarettes with us, so if we did smoke 'em we'd get dinged for disobeying orders.
