It has been some time when someon asked for adresses to contact the veterans organizations of the Fallschirmtruppe. After looking for the Platensee materials, going through some 100 pages of old notes I found these to share :

    Suchdienst, Steffen L. Rhode
    Taufkirchener Strasse 13

    viele Glück !

most of us mountain boys know how to live off the land, and most of us have rejected the finer city boy's way of life, thus we are very much suspicious of anyone out of state. There is a real hate relationship here with California and northern Oregon as we have for years, something like over 20 wanted our little part of the west ocast to be dubbed the stae of "Jefferson".....don't ask, probably was come up by several members of the three communes we still have in the area from the 60's by gone days. Gotta admit though we have some of the finest mushrooms grown in the US of A and are an essential part of good cooking. Pine nuts are quite common in many of the gourme' cooking dishes of the area. I could well do without them though....
getting back to the origianl post, yes it will be some time in April for me to pursue Jack as he is gone to Germany again for extended holidays....besides the roads are a bit washed out due to heavy rains. I'm up in the mtn's actaully at my little bung ga lo at 5200 feet, with about 4 inches of new snow. Borrowng a friends computer. Not sure when I'll come down as the peace and solitude is supreme here ! heck I need to get down though to hit the tree work as I am behind......ah so much to do and yet life is too short

Sounds like a nice clean way of living--I wouldnt mind doing some of that myself--only--I cant stand mushrooms--they reming me of eating boiled rubber. Besides--im also allergic to them. I can only and just barely stand them on Pizza.

Pine Nuts? Must be a strong tasting nut--like Almonds or Pistachiso. I like Almonds but cant stand Pistachios.

Ive heard you guys are having a major wash there--hope it doesnt cause much damage--especailly to communities.

5200 feet--I bet its even hard to boil an egg at that altitude?

    I agree--life is too short.
