1/700 scale Tamiya waterline kit of the Australian Destroyer D68 Vampire of World War II. And I won’t be attempting this scale again as I didn’t realize this scale until it arrived. But once again, as small as the parts were, Tamiya does a great job with the fit of their model parts. I used two decals and a stern flag. Not much paint. Then I glued it to the box portion along with another Australian flag.
Not going into all the detail that I read, but she was sunk by Japanese aircraft but as I recall not all hands perished.
Great model! The small scale makes it even more amazing. I had to read more about the ship. I came across this. Worth a read. HMAS Vampire (I) | Royal Australian Navy
Half Track: A lovely presentation. The idea of attaching the finished model to the box cover is novel to me. Well done and please share your next project with us. Thank you. Cheers and be well. Evilroddy.
