    Hey y'all,

While looking up some photos for a previous thread today, I found a very interesting website showing paintings made by Russian artists, many of them soldiers themselves, about the war:

A thread that never occurred to me!

War Paintings of Lawren P. Harris

My Grandfather, who lived in Grande Prairie Alberta, was the lawyer for the transfer of American goods to Russia via Alaska in WW2.

He was also given a couple of pastel paintings which I inadvertently lost during my last move. My Grandmother, in an inattentive moment decided to dust them with a cloth. Oops.
We had them appraised, just in case a decade ago. Turns out they were worthless to begin with. The artist was their version of "Velvet Elvis."

A third website I found today, with paintings by American artists. So powerful (warning: some of them are a little graphic).
