Hey y'all, While looking up some photos for a previous thread today, I found a very interesting website showing paintings made by Russian artists, many of them soldiers themselves, about the war: (there are two parts) Soviet War Paintings
A thread that never occurred to me! Canada's Parliament house is a veritable treasure trove. The War Paintings in the Senate Chamber - Index War Paintings of Lawren P. Harris My Grandfather, who lived in Grande Prairie Alberta, was the lawyer for the transfer of American goods to Russia via Alaska in WW2. My Grandmother, in an inattentive moment decided to dust them with a cloth. Oops. We had them appraised, just in case a decade ago. Turns out they were worthless to begin with. The artist was their version of "Velvet Elvis."
