oh, that would cause trouble.. BIG trouble! Imagine, just for the hack of it, how the US government would react if you really drive an old russian tank down the streets of manhattan! That would cause panic all over!
    nice. :D

If I understood Japanese, I might be able to tell you!

A quick check on Google yielded these links:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WD1V

Which is a model kit of a T34-85 called Rudy - interestingly the box art shows the tank with turret trained to the rear as in Bolo's link!

    and:
    http://www.armia-pancerna.private.pl/t34.htm

Which seems to be in an Eastern European language that I definately cannot read - but has no mention at all of 'Rudy' that I can see!

    oh well...

I would guess that it is a tank, named 'Rudy' by it's crew, or by somebody somewhere (or maybe given a name in Cryllic that looks like Rudy), that is in a museum somewhere, and so somebody has based a model kit on it.

Hey busdriver. You seem well versed in Polish vehicles.I'm going to be doing a couple of 1/35 scale 7TP's and could use a few ideas for the paint jobs.Check out the modeling section of the forum.

    Thanks

Yeah, yeah, I remember. I've seen it when I was a small boy. Now I'd like to see it again, but I doubt, it will be on the TV anymore... :(

How many Panthers did Rudy knock out?

And do they exaggerate Rudys capabilities in the show?

Why don't we start with how many tanks it knocked out, and then continue to determine which types those tanks were... The Panther wasn't the most common German tank you know.

Roel, i was using sarcasm! :D

My point was that Rudy in a polish tv show would most probably be seen knocking out a whole battalion of Panthers.

    Propaganda

but then again, maybe the tv show is realistic, u never know.

Unfortunatelly I know nothing about the way 7TP's were painted. If I come across any interesting information, I will let you know.

As far as I remember, Rudy didn't destroy german tanks in hundreds. It rarely took part in any tank battles. The focus of the series was on individual "adventures" of the crew, who were often sent on some sort of "commando" missions. Anyway Rudy didn't always come victorious from encounters with Germans. It was knocked out two times. Once it was repaired, and the second time it had to be replaced. One of the crew-members - russian officer with polish origins - was killed, and the rest of them severely wounded. Stangely enough they stayed at the hospital during the Warsaw Uprising. Probably the scrip-writer decided that it's better to keep them away from the front line, when Russians stood and waited until Warsaw bleed itself to death.
