    'Desert Rats' Memorial, Thetford Forest Park, Norfolk, UK

    Condition
    Externally looks ok - rubber wheel rims cracked. Has holes pierced in underside. Internally is empty and slightly rusty.

    History
    "This Cromwell tank was restored by R.H. Barrell Engineering Ltd. to represent Cromwell Mk IV T189873 'Little Audrey II' which served in 'B' Sqdn. 1st. Batt. Royal Tank Regiment, here in Thetford Forest and took part in the invasion of Normandy in June 1944. The founder of this memorial, Mr. Les Dinning served as gunner in this tank." (from the plaque on the tank)

    Thanks for submitting this very useful material. Would you be aware of any websites that might give information on tank to tank combats fought by the Cromwell ?

    I appreciate your interest, but these topics are for discussion of the individual tank only, not the type as a whole.
