"Breathtaking new photographs, including several vivid full-color images, offer a never-before-seen look at the war-weary soldiers in the Battle of the Bulge who fought through the frozen Ardennes Forest in a mountainous region of Belgium in the dead of winter.
They show soldiers on both sides battling the frigid weather as they fought each other during Nazi Germany's last-ditch effort to drive back Allied forces between December 1944 and January 1945.
The pictures were released by Life Magazine on the 67th anniversary of the start of the grueling battle. "

Some very fine photo's Gordon. But I think the first photo is not a Sherman but a Motor Gun Carriage (Tank Destroyer).

The caption does say a sherman passing another gun carriage. Tough to tell as they have everything including the kitchen sink loaded on top.

some of the comments under the pictures are scary and appaling. It seems like history is not taught any more at many schools.... it must be Fiegelein's fault.

Thanks for posting Gordon. I'm not so sure that these are "never before seen" -- I'm 100% sure I saw the first photo before, I just can't remember where.

Thanks for posting these, Gordon. Seen before or not, they are haunting reminders of what was.

it's just the chinstrap tied upside down. This allowed wearing branches as cammo without having a net.
