The Destroyed Bunker

    The accident that destroyed the #4 bunker was caused by the British using the bunker as a makeshift magazine store. These pictures show the bunker today, note the gun parts (Arrowed) that were never removed and still lay were they were blown back in 1944.

    The twisted wreckage of the gun lays where it fell in 1944.

    The back of the bunker where it is quite clear that this took the blunt of the explosion due to the fact that the magazine rooms are located to the rear of the bunker.

    Here the gun barrel lays in several parts not moved since the explosion in 1944.

    Great photos, you were lucky, when I visited there were bodies all over them :rolleyes:
