Hey Man.....those are "good" instruments...get it out of that case.! :)
Not sure how old you are, but I was born 1960. When I was a kid, "cheap" guitars were pretty much just that.
What 300 bux (especially used) can get you these days is very impressive.

My kids first guit was a MIM Tele. It was Bright Red.
I put a White Pearl pick-guard on it, and had a Luthier/Friend of mine dress the frets and set it up. He did a European blues tour with it 5 years later.....still had the stock Pups and Tuners.

What a nightmare...he was filling in for a band that had lost 3 players to Heroin Rehab, ALL At The Same Time...!!
They did a support role for Walter Trout and some other pretty "big" names back then.
The Singer/Band Owner/Front Man was wiped out on narcotics herself, and had intended to enter rehab, but was facing "failure of contract agreements" if she bailed from the tour.....would have been financially disastrous for her and her husband.
I had to epoxy an ounce of Heroin into a spare Reverb Tank, and install it in a back-up Deluxe Reverb so she could start the tour in Amstredam.
    Boy...those were the days....... :)

They all "did it".....but Zep definitely seemed to be the worst by far.
They settled out of court a long time ago with one of those old Black Dudes...was it Willy Dixon.?
They have a lot to answer for, but their money will insulate them from any real legal battles at this point.
Face it...Black Artists being ripped-off by White Artists, and White venue owners and White owned record companies was standard procedure back then.
Bessie Smith just about had to shove a gun in the face of White Business to get what she had coming.....what's new.?
Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, they ALL got ripped-off.....poor Bud Powell.....those Ass Hole white cops should have been strapped into the electric chair.
It goes on and on and on. What do you do with your slaves when you do not need them anymore.......

Don't get me wrong... I love that thing. I don't do much playing these days but there was a time when you couldn't pry that thing from my hands. Like you, I did have it professionally set up, and I also had a buddy swap out the pickups for some American ones. It was all I ever needed (though I certainly wasn't going on tours with it or anything). It was the first guitar I ever bought with my own money.

I'm definitely a fan of the MIMs.

Tip of the iceberg, so to speak, but.....I think this guys gives a pretty good, and Fair/Unbiased examination at the topic. He has quite a few videos actually.

Could be wrong, think Richard Thompson wrote the song. If not, made it more famous.
There's a vid of him on a 12 string here. Buddy can play.

Cival War - Where the rhythm guitarist plays the intro??? but whatever...
(Not how I've seen it performed, but it doesn't stop me from playing the intro.... Just means no rhythm guitar on this track's intro with those single notes it expects me to play)...
    - I won't let this backing track compromise with my practise... Eb (Standard E tuning lowered a semitone so E is Eb a.k.a D# on electronic tuners)...
You want for Guns N' Roses, Jimi Hendrix and my take on Nirvana, to tune your guitar to; D# G# C# F# A# D#
