Easy enough prey for RAF fighters over the Channel, over the Arctic, under conditions of luftwaffe air superiority, the He-115 proved a valuable asset. It could withstand the harshest conditions and adopt a variety of roles. A flight of He-115's opened the attack on PQI7.
