    Even after World War Two, the holders of the Knights Cross were and are still held with very high regard and really looked up to in the communities they live in.

    As are those who have earned a Medal of Honour or a Victoria Cross - these awards are generally given for valour and heroic action, safeguarding their own comrades-in-arms, not for political persuasion or for the specific orders they were following.

    But they are still very respected, like a big figure in the community, a hero... Also a lot men that won the Knights Cross, won it for for valor and bravery in battle.
