Bought tickets for Megadeth in February and Kylie Minogue in June. Like mixing meat and fish on your plate, isn´t it...?!!!
Does this count? My 10 year old daughter sing O Holy Night to herself in her room last night? She has a lovely voice.
Nick Cave, and his Bad Seeds. At Hammersmith a couple of weekends ago. As ever... blindingly good & ear-numbingly loud. Cheers, Adam.
Adam -- If you are a fan of Nick Cave, you may also like Willard Grant Conspiracy. You should check them out if you have a chance, as they tour the UK once or twice per year. Cheers!
As for my last show, I saw Flogging Molly last month. Great show! High energy, great crowd. I did not know that this thread existed. I shall enjoy reading it from back to front.
Good one mate, just had a listen on Youtube, not unlike Mr Cave's quieter moments, mixed in with a dollop of Jim White. I might just have to give that a go (Any particular album best to start with?). Nice to get convincing recommendations... it gets harder to keep in touch with what's out there as time passes. Cheers, Adam.
I really like Regard the End, Mojave and Let it Roll, depending on my mood. If you favor a more rocking sound, I would suggest Let it Roll. If you prefer a more reflective sound, you cannot go wrong with Mojave or Regard the End. They played in London last month so will not likely be back until this coming Autumn or Winter. I've seen them perform at least 20 times, going back to when the band formed and I have always been mesmerized by their music.
Hmm, last month went to my first ever country concert Brooks & Dunn followed by Alan Jackson. Brooks & Dunn were excellent and high energy - one of the few bands I've found better live (and I enjoy them in other media as well). Seeing Alan Jackson live was the same as seeing a video. In January, Michael Buble. And somehow, we've missed most of the concerts since the Rolling Stones were in Regina Oct 2006, including George Thorogood a couple of weeks ago and k.d. lang tonight. In the past saw Burton Cummings & Randy Bachman - never sat down all night and had no voice after the show, Sting & Annie Lennox (she was worth every penny for both, he wasn't), Trooper, Eric Clapton & Mark Knofler together, The Stones, Billy Joel, the Doobie Brothers. Does Phantom of the Opera in April also count? Not much I don't enjoy - mostly its finding the time to go (well, I don't like Rap - but is that actually music?).
Great concert by the Def Leppard guys! unfortunately only some 4,000 people there so the going never got really that wild....
Lenny was great. Played for almost three hours which is rare for any band to do. Except for the "Boss". Tomorrow Kylie Minogue and on Monday Bon Jovi. Early July Blondie and Bruce Springsteen. PS. If you did not guess I love music...
I got to see Debbie Harry do a lounge act about 15 years ago. She played a small venue (about 80 of us) and really did a great job of it. It was as if you Debbie Harry with Marianee Faithful Ella Fitzgerald. It is good to see that she is still out touring although, at this point, I am pretty sure every band that has ever existed has reunited . . . even when they shouldn't. I just noticed that Extreme are touring again this Summer.
Kylie was great! I also think she was surprised how much the crowd enjoyed the concert and her presence... YouTube - Kylie Minogue - On a Night Like This Helsinki 13.6.2008
Great show by the "Boss" again. Three hours full speed ahead. Now my feet ache from standing for four hours....but it was worth it. Interesting ending as someone from the crowd hoped " Santa Claus is coming to town". They played it, great song but it´s mid-July.... No "River" this time but my favourite was "Point blank" and " Born in the USA".
