That looks familiar, History Channel maybe? Anyway great stuff! I am starting to get interested in the Eastern front!
YouTube - Lost Evidence: " Stalingrad " 2 of 5 YouTube - Lost Evidence: " Stalingrad " 3 of 5 YouTube - Lost Evidence: " Stalingrad " 4 of 5 YouTube - Lost Evidence: " Stalingrad " 5 of 5 For those who wanna see directly the others parts. I already saw them. They're pretty good.
Where was the lost evidence? Poor showing, part from that not bad. Here is a much better one on You Tube in 12 parts total 2 hours and worth buying the whole series as a box set as I did. http://www.ww2f.com/wwii-films-tv/20955-battlefield.html BATTLEFIELD - Stalingrad YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 1 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 2 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 3 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 4 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 5 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 6 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I " Stalingrad " 7 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I " Stalingrad " 8 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 9 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad " 10 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield " Stalingrad " 11 of 12 YouTube - Battlefield I: " Stalingrad "12 of 12
Indeed it's a two hour episode in sections on You Tube it's part of the BATTLEFIELD Series one. Click the link for the details. http://www.ww2f.com/wwii-films-tv/20955-battlefield.html
There's another option! Order some of Jason Mark's books! Jason does some absolutely phenomenal research on both sides of the battle. I'm reading Island of Fire now. I've already read Death of a Leaping Horseman. As a matter of fact, Jason named his business Leaping Horseman Books! When you read one of his books, you are literally looking in the trenches and cellars with the troops on both sides. His printing format is a little different, too. I'm not entirely sure how he manages to pack so much information into that package. Were he to print them like normal folks, they'd be a lot longer.
basically, there are 2 main series of documentaries: "battlefield I" and "Lost Evidence" lost evidence: is more spectacular, shorter, with special effects and interviews with experts. but it covers less battles. battlefield is longer, more techinical, no special effects, more detailed but maybe a bit boring (it depends on your interests) but it covers almost every battle: BoB, kursk, midway, staligrad, fall of france, market garden, montecassino, norht africa.... everything!!!
I agree with your summary there Neon. Series one is a bit more detailed than series two in the terms of looking at the key points more in depth, series two gets more to the point. On saying that I found Monte Cassino a bit of a let down as I was hoping it would look only at these four battles that took place, unfortunately not. It was a good over view from Tunisia to Sicily then on to Italy don't get get me it was good but not want I really wanted. Market Garden, Crimea and Kursk stick to the subjects, I will be buying a few more in the new year.
