The Malmedy Massacre. View from the ones who were there and survived.

Thank you Jim, and this is just the beginning. I have not posted more on it for lack of proper time. Ill try getting more posted after this week. The really interesting stuff is yet to be posted ;-))

 

Ill be adding to this thread this coming week. Ive not had time to do much recently due to volunteering and helping out a Vietnam Vet/friend with loads of problems. Hope you all understand? Ill do my best providing I have enough time to even think of it.

Malmedy Survivors

In the list of survivors below of the Malmedy Massacre there is one name missing. Aldo Orazietti. I personally held in my hands a presidential citation, signed by the president, detailing his surviving and action at the massacre, for which he also received a Silver Star. The citation and star were destroyed long ago but his army release papers still survive and document these facts. Is the list incomplete and still needs information as I've just provided?

my grandfather died before i was old enough to talk to him about his wwii experience but i do have his discharge papers and with that i had assumed all this time that he was a survivor of the massacre but his name is not on any of these lists can someone help me i would like to know any info that i can get on him from his discharge papers i know he was in

he was a gun crewman med artillery military occupation number 864
normandy,northern france, rhineland,ardennes,central europe

eame theater ribbon w/5 bronze stars per wd go #33/45 american theater ribbon,and good conduct ribbon


i have given all i can think of but any other info you need please ask i just can,t figure out why he was not listed and where he was thanks in advance
