You may have noticed some funny business going on with your titles recently, instead of "Junior Members", "Members" & "Senior Members" we now have "recruits", "Members", "Veterans", "Aces" & "Experten". Just so you know, I'm just testing the rank/title system and seeing how things look and work.

More changes are on the way, as this is just a first small step of a large overhaul of the user rank system. Don't worry, I'll keep you Rogues update as the upgrades are implemented.

    :otto: :_thanks:

Cool Otto. I was tired being a Senior for ever. It feels kind of odd being called a "Veteran" though, it's almost too much compared to those who really served. I shall certainly cherish this title. I also noted Peppy adopted my "Experten" proposal and I must say I'm kind of proud to see this materialize. Keep on with the good work§ I think these changes add a very postive touch to the forum.

I am somewhat disappointed. I was expecting something more in the lines of:

You can pick any one from the list above, I don't mind.

Thanks for the comment, it's been a while in coming Skipper. Peppy and I have been throwing this back and forth for a while now, and we came up with these titles, including your very cool experten title in another thread. As I said however, these titles are only a small part of a larger user title/rank/permissions system that we are working very hard on.

I don't like the term "Veteran" for members who weren't actual WW2 Veterans.

I see what you mean, but in this context it refers to a forum veteran. I've heard similar comments about the digital WWII medals that members can "earn" and also the term "Ace" and "Expert". Besides, the real WWII Veterans are quite clearly indicated on the member list by other means.

Indeed WW, I made an effort to make then quite visible, as they are the sole reason this website exists.

No system will ever be perfect and I like the efforts displayed, so I say let's keep it this way. If there is an objection we could always add the term "forum" in front of some terms.
