    (actually, the original word I used was "nonce." Though I used it properly, I was informed shortly after that this word now has a new meaning.

    Reading all these parenthetical comments, I'm starting to wonder about "sniggering," though! It does sound somewhat less than complimentary, doesn't it!?)
