Can somebody help me with finding information about the M1 and M1A1 markings, placed on the stock and the metal parts? Also information on production dates in relation with serial numbers is welcome. Thanks.

If you are not in a hurry I can get you some info. I filed the paperwork for an M1 and an M1A1 last tuesday, if I am lucky I will get the permit in about three weeks time. Then I can get you pics of everything. If you are on a tight timeline I guess I could ask my friend at the gunstore if it woud be possible to pass on eariler in order to make some pics!

But as far as I know there was quite some variety regarding the markings!

This is also a good place to do some research 0n the Thompsons:

As with the M1, there are no markings on the wood.

Nice pictures, Skylinedrive. Do you have those Thompsons in your collection?
